Political Rant & Expletives

I have been following the news on Sarah Palin with awe and wonder.

Since when are the families of candidates a target seriously? Has that line in the sand been dissolved? If so, is it too late to say Chelsea Clinton bears a striking resemblance to Web Hubble?

Here is the rub. The thing that has me most awestruck. Sarah Palin ("SP") is a bad mommy - who must have been spending too much time at work - because her kid got knocked up. To those people saying that - most of them women - I say FUCK YOU.

If SP was a man, no one - and I mean no one would question her parenting abilities if her kid was preggers. NO ONE. No one said - damn, Al Gore must be a terrible parent since his kid is involved in drugs or better still, when young Albert was hit by a car while crossing the street with his dad - No one said - Al must have been too wrapped up in work to pay attention to his duties as a father.

Her kid - 17 year old kid - got knocked up by her boyfriend. Under, what I am sure, is the watchful eye of her parents. Show me a 17 year old kid who doesn't defy their parents, be it sex, drinks, drugs, etc... And if you think you have a 17 year old who doesn't defy you? You are living in a dream world. At 14, I was doing things that would make your hair curl and my parents were strict like you can't even imagine . . . come to think of it, I was pretty good at 17 . . . Oh wait, more relevant - Joe Biden is a bad parent and a bad brother because his kid and his brother are involved in criminal hedge fund fraud - that's right, stealing money! Biden, you are a terrible parent and brother who paid more attention to politics than to your family. May you rot in hell.

But, back to the issue, SP is a bad parent because her daughter is pregnant. Well, I know a lot of bad parents then. Even better, however, is the fact that the libtards bill themselves as the party of choice, yet both SP and her daughter have made the choice to keep their children and they are being excoriated for it by the left. So? Everyone but a Republican has the choice to keep or abort their child? Left at its best - the party which believes that child is an STD, a cancer or a "punishment" and not a blessing (I am pro-choice, by the way so Fuck off!)

Or how about the libtards saying if SP had better prenatal care her kid wouldn't have Downs? Downs is a chromosomal abnormality. IT IS NOT CAUSED BY AMNIOTIC FLUID LEAKAGE - you can't cause your kid to have Downs. Assholes.

Oh, and she was a beauty queen *gasp.* So what? That foray into beauty pageants got her the money she needed to pay for college. Where did you get yours? The government? Mommy and daddy? I'm still working for mine. Fuck you again Liberal asshats!

Where are all the Feminazis? Oh, right, they don't have ideals unless you are a democrat.

What has the libtards' panties in a bunch? Is it that SP is a woman? Is it that SP is all the things they bill their messiah as, only it's real? Is it that she has an 80% approval rating in her state while being a wife, mother and leader - which means she does her job at home and she does her job at work and she does them well?

SP is married to a UNION man a steelworker, a roughneck, a fisherman, an everyman. Obama and his elitist wife can't come close to being the everyman that Todd Palin and Sarah Palin are. SP is a down and dirty earth girl. The only candidate with real energy saving experience, the only candidate with real economic experience (she gave the gas tax money collected by Alaska back to the people of Alaska so they could pay their heating bills), the only candidate who has had to deal with other nations (the native alaskans are sovereign), and neighboring nations - Canada (read up on her environmentally friendly $40 billion dollar natural gas line with Canada), Oh, and natural disasters? They don't have those in Alaska? She is the only candidate to find corruption and rid the government of it, the only candidate with executive experience! She and her husband are the blue collar american dream - the everyman that Obama pretends to be. Oh and she and her family support the military - Obama can't even be bothered to visit with military men and women when visiting their base.

There is also this: Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's.

She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska's proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about.

According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

Stolen directly from Blackfive. Obama doesn't have experience that comes anywhere close.

Obama's only senatorial experience has been running for President. He has zero foreign policy experience (so that argument about SP doesn't hold water) - thinking about what you would do in a certain situation doesn't count. He has, however, surrounded himself with those with real foreign policy experience - kudos to him. Oh, wait, he was in state politics, where he was involved with shady characters in the most corrupt government in the US - so there's that.

Obama compares his "natural disaster" or "campaign" experience to SP's real experience. Obama is useless. A socialist who thinks Americans are too stupid to realize the impact that socialism will have on us. Government is not here to take care of me - find some other idiot to prey upon. (Oh, and is Obama even qualified to be President? Where is his birth certificate?)

Folks, SP has people scared. Why? She is a woman. Not a woman like Hillary who got her cred on the shoulders of men. One who stepped through the door, flew up the ladder on her own cred. she is a force of nature. One that has liberals running scared because - politics aside, she is the American experience they claim Republicans don't understand. She is bluecollar, working class, family oriented, union made, feisty and beautiful. She doesn't fit the republican mold of stodgy white guys opposed to unions and the downtrodden. Why? because that isn't the republican mold. It is what democrats would have you believe. Who is elitist? Not republicans. The richest people I know are all democrats - I know a few.

The poorest people I know are all republicans. You know, the working people, the lower class, real, everyday men and women working for all they have.

The democratic party stands for elitists who talk out of the side of their mouth about the poor, the middle class, the minorities - while collecting $65,000 speaking fees -JOHN EDWARDS.

I am a minority. I am a low-class, middle income asian in a blue collar community. My husband works in a factory. My dad drives a truck. My mom works in a factory and my sister is a criminal. We are the American family - good, bad, ugly. We are also independent thinkers. We are hardworking. We are honorable. None of those adjectives describe the democratic establishment.

Oh and to those of you who say - "just remember who was driving the bus these last eight years" . . . let's. Clinton drove the bus during an economic boom spurred by Newt Gingrich and a Republican dominated Congress and he got glory he didn't deserve. Of course at its peak, unemployment was at 7.5% under Clinton.

Bush was handed that smoking and sputtering bus. Then, a Democratic dominated Congress ruined this economy (though Bush gets the blame) by making us believe that the mortgage crisis must be solved by the government, that the war - voted on almost unanimously by that Congress - is for oil and that $4/gallon for gas is somehow tied to the fact that in his 20's Bush owned a failed oil company. Remember who was driving the bus - the Democratic led Congress. The one Obama is part of. The one who taxes first and worries about supply and demand second. The one who lives for themselves and not the American public. The one who says Bush's high of 5.5% unemployment is unconscionable (yet interestingly lower than Clinton's . . .) $4/gallon for gas is a democratic created problem. So, remember who was driving the bus when Obama obliterates our incomes - gives the money the government raises and you work hard for - to those who work not at all.

And lest it get lost in the translation - I am opposed to paying more taxes. I pay 43% of my income (plus sales tax) in taxes every year. Nearly half of my income. I make great money and live hand to mouth. Yet, I heard Obama say that I would experience an increase in my taxes. Thank you. I won't buy that loaf of bread for my kid's lunch afterall. Obama and the change he stands for, isn't a change in politics per usual, it is the change in your pocket. Change I can't spare - can you?

In November, I am voting for Sarah Palin. I only wish it was for President.

Shit, after I posted this - I read this! She says it better.

You know, oddly enough, you didn't even mention the fact that you think that Todd Palin is really sexy and you would like to see him wearing the fireman's pants and suspenders sans shirt.

I am seeing the cracks in your veener. And after three and a half years, I think that I know what is important to the writers of my daily reads.

I like the fact that Palin is not now, nor has she ever been a friggin' senator. Oh, and that vagina thing is attractive, too.

Heh. My, how times have changed. Once upon a time, Union Men were considered to be leftists of the worst sort. Now, they're the bedrock of the nation.

I think people ought to be very careful who they criticize for children's less-than-ideal behavior. There are plenty of us who ought to be thankful that we were not in Sarah Palin's daughter's shoes. Glass houses, and all that...

Being a realist, I don't believe in abstinence-only sex education. Contraception might've helped...but teenagers don't plan very well, and Family Planning is no exception.

I don't think it's our place to judge Palin's daughter (for what I believe is a poor choice on any 17 year old's part), nor do I think we can sum up Palin's parenting skills based on one situation. I do think that it is important to consider whether or not accepting the vp nomination is the best choice given the fact that her daughter is pregnant-and will thereby be drug through the mud-and her son has special needs. Needs which will only increase as he ages.

You are correct in saying that we wouldn't make a big deal of this if she were a man. Of course it doesn't help that she promotes abstinence only education...

Posted by: anne at September 3, 2008 01:26 PM

The fact that she promotes abstinence only education means nothing to me. Even if she promoted safe sex education, her daughter would likely be knocked up. The issue is that these questions would never enter the mix if she were a man. We would hear "he has a special needs son and a daughter on hard times - what a brave man" and not, perhaps she should consider whether accepting the nomination is the best choice given those facts. Because in reality what that is saying is the fact that I have a young child at home who may need me, I shouldn't work.

Here! Here!
I agree!

Preggers is not a parenting problem- it's a bad decision problem on the two involved.

Posted by: Rave at September 3, 2008 02:23 PM

Calling into question Sarah Palin's parenting skills on the basis of her 17 year old daughter getting pregnant is idiocy of the first order. Goes to show us just how stupid the Liberal Left really is. Do we really want these cretins running our country? The same people who trash someone else's family values for political gain?

And yes, I know that many of our kids ignore us parents preaching abstinence. Does that mean we should give up and say Here, go screw all you want as long as you have condoms? Should us parents surrender and just let our kids do whatever the hell they want? So they'll grow up to become dysfunctional liberal left idiots? Kids may disobey us but that doesn't relieve us of the responsibility of being parents.

I'm here cuz LLB sent me...and she's right, you do say this so very well.

I wanna shout "It's not about Race, It's not about Sex, It's about who's qualified to do the job."

What gets me is all the campaign promises that are in no way realated to the job.

I think your are right on on much of this. The most glaring exception is that some liberal feminists, like my blogging partner (Jay at Two Women Blogging) and I, are defending her -- at least against the types of terrible sexist and misogynistic criticism she's been receiving. ;) I don't care if it's Hillary or Sarah Palin, criticizing a woman simply because she's a woman is wrong.

Posted by: Mary (MPJ) at September 4, 2008 01:42 AM

If I could stand and applaud you, I would. That was damn good. Brilliant. Super brilliant!

Nice Rant Oddy. I like her. I really like her. I just hope she has better aim with her gun then Cheney did ;)...

This whole thing about her daughter... come on man... It's hard to tell a 17 year ol' girl she can't date, and being a man, not think the hormone level on both her, and her parter's behalf will become elevated to the point of ... realizing in the end why we "as parents" told them not to.

Hell, I'd take her fishin' with me any day(Sarah, not her daughter... don't even go there on me). Governin' Alaska ain't the same as governin' Rhode Island. Russia's closer to Alaska...

I'm diggin' it... I really am.

When the liberal lefties can show me that their "method" of birth control works 100% of the time - I may stop to listen to them. And who said Ms. Palin was for "abstinence only" education? Do we know this for sure? Or is this the liberal media take on the fact that she thinks abstinence education should be part of the curriculum?

It seems to me that whenever a Conservative says - "hey maybe along with all the pills and condoms you might just want to tell kids that they should consider not having sex"... they are suddenly marked as idiots and for "abstinence only". So until I hear her say it - I'm not taking it for granted.

That being said - it is also not Ms. Palin's fault if the press wants to drag her daughter (who is not running for office) through the mud. Apparently it's taboo to drag Dem's kids through the mud - but not Republicans. Who is really at fault? According to many women - Sarah Palin is at fault because reporters are jerks of the highest order. okey dokey. Let's all us wimmen get back in the kitchen and chain ourselves to the stove because otherwise the reporters will be mean to us and our families and it will be all our fault!!!

Well done Oddy!
