Glad Tidings

So, it is the last day of 2007. I hope you all had a good 2007. 2007 brought visits with dear friends, family time and a few ups and downs. But, overall, 2007 was ok.

2008 promises to be a sight better. I am sure of it. For those 10 readers that still stop by, posting may be light in 2008.

I have found that I am no longer that fond of blogging, though I still love keeping up with all of you. I haven't the time, the energy, or even the inspiration to do so. Every now and again, I will post something, probably less than insightful.

I've a number of things planned for 2008 - the biggest of which will occur in just 75 days!! WHOO HOO!!

I'll leave you with these pictures - Christmas in Oddyboboland - we are still enjoying it.

This is what SANTA left us at our house . . .

This is the aftermath at my moms - note- most of the wrapping paper is already cleaned up - mom, et al - went a little nuts.

Cold

It is cold here! Damn cold. I attended the Steelers game Sunday (boo hoo) and it was very, very cold.

In fact, I had a weekend of Steelers. We got a private tour of the stadium and breakfast (and an awesome giftbag) on Saturday and then we tailgated and had field passes and watched the game Sunday. Here are a couple nice photos.

This is the Boy playing with the contents of his giftbag.

Here is the Boy at field-side, poor thing was frozen:

Here are the Hubby and the Cuz on Game Day:

And here are the cousins at their first NFL game - mind you, they are southern boys . . .

Oh, and Today is the Hubby's birthday. I made him my extra special homemade lasagna with spinach and we will be eating it this evening as a family. Happy Birthday Hubby! You are the reason I get up in the morning!

My apologies

In the event any of you - whose phone numbers I have - get a strange call or got a strange call from me in the last 24 hour or so . . . My deepest apologies. Someone stole my cell - the only valuable left in my loaner beater car . . . Service was shut off but would not be effective until Sunday.

So again, if you are cursing my name - I am sorry. No less than three family members called me this am to scream - hence why I am up at two a.m. typing this.

My phone is password protected, so numbers can't be pulled from it, but you can auto-dial by holding in numbers, that is how I have family and friends stored. So while they can't get your number, the phone stil dials out.

So again. I am very sorry if you are on the receiving end of a call that looks like it is coming from me! It should all be resolved Sunday.

I feel like Paris Hilton, except, you know, without all the STDs.

My number will be the same after today and assuming I can get the phone before the stolen one to work, I'll still have most everyone's contact information. The stolen phone will be useless to whoever stole it, cause it isn't a simcard phone. Oh well. Sorry everyone, again.

No Swiping Swiper!

Ok, some and only some of you will get the titled reference . . . moving on! I stole this from Rich cause I can, and cause she wasn't looking!

---------------------------------

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? / Hot Chocolate, but with premium cocoa . . . mmmmm chocolate!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped, and everyone of them has a bow or trinket or something festive. Also, Santa is leaving behind his big velvet bag this year . . . cause it's purty . . .

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? I like white lights on the house and multi-colored lights on the tree.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope! My husband chews tobacco, so I don't want him kissing me with a yucky mouth . . . can't leave any temptations either.

5. When do you put up your decorations? ASAP after Thanksgiving

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Ha! Eggrolls that I make from scratch at home.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Breakfast at our house with Grandma and Grandpa before we could open our gifts, then lunch and dinner at Grandma's to open those gifts.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? What??????? I have no idea what you are talking about. The big guy is real. I saw him at the Mall!

9. What does your stocking look like? Traditional red stocking with "mommy" written in glitter.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? With as many freakin snowmen as humanly possible. I love a full tree. The fuller, the better. I like to see an ornament on every branch, though not entirely possible. I have received some fabulous ornaments this year too! Rich's mom-Grandy- made me a beautiful jeweled ornament that I am totally in love with, I'll post pics later. THANK YOU GRANDY!. The centerpiece of the ornament is a dragonfly, my favorite insect - when I was little, my mom would catch them and tie thread to them and give them to us as "living dragon kites" . . . I love dragonflies. Then my dear friend Christina sent me this fabulous firefighter snowman - he is holding a cute little dalmation pup and everything! LOVE HIM!

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? I actually love snow. That is until is sucks me off the road and into a tree like Saturday . . .Ack!

12. Can you ice skate? Yes - not well, and I'm not sure my body would appreciate it now!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? My son, He was my personal gift from God.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Enjoying time with family and friends. Eat Drink and Make Merry!!

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? My famous toffee crunch angel food cake.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? The "Merry Christmas" game we play.

17. What tops your tree? This year? A giant silver bow.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving is the best.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? White Christmas as sung by Bing Crosby.

20. Candy Canes? Love em!

Ode to Winter

"It's snowing out stupid! It is not the end of the world as we know it!"

That is my mantra.

So:

- Just because there is a snowflake in the air, you do not have to drive 20 miles per hour on the highway;

- Those brake lights ahead, however, they mean stop;

- If you end up in the ditch because you are an ass, you deserve it and I am going to laugh at you;

- Stay off my donkey if it is icy out because you will be buying me a new car - I prefer large, expensive SUV's;

- I am not friendly when it takes me 2 hours to get to work because you all forgot how to drive when you saw that first snowflake - I'm just saying; and

- If you cannot effectively multitask - PUT THE PHONE DOWN! Seriously!

Oh, yeah, Happy Friday!
