Memed

I got tagged by CalTechGirl . . . for a meme . . . Ack!

The rules:
1. Post the rules on your blog.
2. Tell 7 random things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post.
4. Pass on the tag.

Here goes:
1. I am not short! I am fun sized. With emphasis on the fun . . . cause that's how I roll!

2. When I pull a glass out of my cupboard - for myself only - I automatically wipe off the rim of the glass . . . with my boob (clothed of course). Cause seriously? Perfect shape for glass wiping . . . I'm just sayin!

3. I don't wear makeup - ever.

4. I don't eat eggs (typically) unless they are boiled; I don't eat tomatoes unless in a sauce, salsa, or ketchup; I don't eat peppers but I love the flavor of peppers and all things hot and spicy (except the pepper itself); I don't eat cabbage except in eggrolls or kimchi; I don't eat veal, lamb, goose, goat or oysters though I have eaten each; I don't eat onions but I love onion rings; I don't eat the internal organs of any organism (heart, brain, liver, etc. . .), except for those inside the small dried korean fishies (fully intact) that I love; I don't like food that wiggles - like Jello; I regularly snack on seaweed or wasabi flavored things but I don't like sushi or wasabi paste; I don't eat sausage links or patties but like sausage in general; I don't eat fake meat . . .even if made from tofu which I do eat. I make kick-ass pie.

5. I fight fires - though my specialty is the car fire. I am excellent with a hose (ahem) - nozzle. I have participated in and rocked battle of the barrel (hose wars) and I look stunning in turn-out gear (ok, clearly an exaggeration . . .), and I like to play with the air horn.

6. I struggle with paranoia on occasion - stop looking at me!

7. I can sit on a beach and smell the ocean and listen to the waves for hours. I close my eyes and get lost in it. The smell reminds me of childhood summers spent in Eastern Shore Maryland, of crab boils, ghost crab hunting, campfire stories, suntan oil, boys, wild ponies, Fisher's, boardwalk fries, 1st Street, kites . . . It is that sudden salty air you smell when crossing over the Bay Bridge. That blast of musty, fishy, salty, goodness. Even today, when I get close to the ocean, I hang my head out of the window, shut off the radio and drink in those sounds and smells. Even now, when leaving an ocean destination, I stop to say farewell to the ocean - "until we meet again" cause it is like leaving the arms of an old friend - an old cozy, comforting friend.

I'm not tagging anyone - instead - go and donate to Project Valour-IT we only have two days left in the fundraiser. Think of the difference you can make.

Go here: Project Valour IT.

Voluntary Meme

I snagged this from the Dash-man!

WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? Yeah, my dad named me after all the pretty girls with my name he dated when he was a younger man and then he tacked on his name to the end of mine . . .

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? Last night. I am not an overly emotional person usually, however, I have tear ducts like Niagra fricken Falls. I blubber. I used to cry at the "Quack, quack, waddle, waddle" McDonald's commercial. So last night, I cried while watching an episode of Planet Earth on the Animal Planet, I don't even know why.

DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? No. I use the computer so much my handwritting is for shit.?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? Sammich pepperoni and hot ham.

DO YOU HAVE KIDS? Yes. I have a sweet, sweet boy.

IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU? Absofrakkinlutely! I would love to have a friend like me . . . oh wait! I already do - Richmond, Christina, and a couple others . . . . I'm so blessed!

DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT? Who me?

RED OR PINK? Red.

WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF? Hmmm, I'd say I am very quick to lose my temper and that is a bad thing. It usually springs up over the stupidest things. I know it, I can't stop it, those that love me deal with it.

WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST? Family that I have lost. But also family I have here. I work so much that I see so little of them.

WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING? Pants: Plum dress pants; Shoes: Black flats - I am at work. If you must know I am also wearing a sparkly black sweater set to top it all off and my hair is in a french braid!

Memed

Ok, I've been memed again. . . this time by Richmond!

1. My: Youve heard the saying Id give my right arm for. So, what would you give your right arm for?

I like Richmond's answer and will, therefore, steal it . . . but if I had to give my right arm for something other than peace in the middle east, it'd be for my baby. I'd give anything for him.

2. Me: Whats one word that describes how you want people to see you?

Honest

3. Meme: If you could be any blogger, which blogger would you be? and why?

Everyone has their own voice. I'd not want to be anyone but myself. Nor, could I imagine anyone wanting to be me.

There!

5. Do you like eggnog? Yes, actually, I do.

6. Favorite gift you received as a child? I have no idea, but I'm guessing it was my stereo.

9. Easiest person to buy for? My nephew and my son.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. Please, email is cheap.

12. Favorite Christmas movie? It is a toss up between A Smoky Mountain Christmas with Dolly Parton and White Christmas.

17.Favorite Christmas song? Leroy the Redneck Reindeer.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I HOPE YOU GET A LITTLE SPECIAL SOMETHING, SOMETHING IN YOUR STOCKINGS! No seriously, I've been told that stockings are enjoyable - fishnet are preferable, but the DH likes the ones with the seam up the back of the leg . . . . . *snicker*

Memity Meme, Meme

I got tagged with this meme a while back and just never did it . . . Sorry Tink.

The rules are simple enough.

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal/blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.

Screw You We're From Texas - Ray Wylie Hubbard
Sometimes I miss Ya - Trent Willmon
No Good Deed - From the Wicked Soundtrack
Bank Job - Bare Naked Ladies
San Toki - The Chinkees (a Korean children's song)
One Piece At A Time - Johnny Cash
When You Were Young - The Killers

There, pretty eclectic, I know.

Meme'd By A Tiger?

I must not be entertaining enough to Blue Tige as he has created, yes, I said created, a meme which he expects me to complete!

Well, the directions were simple enough, and I'll do as asked, however, Mr. Tige didn't even answer his own questions so he'll be the first I tag! After that Contagion cause I haven't done enough to annoy him today and Caltechgirl cause no one ever meme's her! There, I have tagged my three, now on to my answers. . .

1) Two favorite colors. Purple and Green

2) Two least favorite colors. Yellow and Pink

3) Favorite fast food restaurant. Arby's (and Taco Bell)

4) Favorite day of the week. Saturday

5) Least favorite day of the week. Any day but Saturday and Sunday

6) Best thing about your significant other. His cooking

7) Least favorite thing about your significant other. He chews snuff

8) Your significant others favorite thing about you (without asking them). Everything, I'm perfect *wink, wink*

9) Your significant others least favorite thing about you (again, without asking them). That I always have to be right?

10) Black or white? Blue

11) Red or blue? red

12) Day or night? Night

13) Favorite part of your body. My hair

14) Least favorite part about your body. My legs

15) Do you like walking in the rain at times? Yes, as long as it's a summer rain

16) Do you have a tattoo? Not telling . . .

17) “Short and sweet” or “long and hard”. I only like my donuts short and sweet. . .

18) Favorite kind of car. I like trucks

19) Favorite kind of ice cream. Mint Chocolate Chip or Homemade Banana

20) Trix or Lucky Charms. Lucky Charms but my son would call them "Chucky Larms," as in "stop eating my Chucky Larms Momma!"

Now, that I have completed this pointless exercise . . . what's next?

Memelicious

I just met Bloodspite and what does he do? He smacks me with a meme! He is trying to pull the wool over all your eyes. He doesn't want you all to think he's a sweetheart. So I am unsure of the directions and there is no title, so I will just answer the questions.

1: Black and White or Color; how do you prefer your movies?

I like black and whites or should I say classics. More modern movies are too formulaic for me and often boring.

2: What is the one single subject that bores you to near-death?

Celebrities. Oh, wait, do you mean a school subject? I liked them all.

3: MP3s, CDs, Tapes or Records: what is your favorite medium for prerecorded music?

Geez, I don't know how to answer this one especially since I play the radio. But I'd go with MP3s.

4: You are handed one first class trip plane ticket to anywhere in the world and ten million dollars cash. All of this is yours provided that you leave and not tell anyone where you are going ... ever. This includes family, friends, everyone. Would you take the money and ticket and run?

Nope. I couldn't live without my baby boy. The husband is expendable, but my son? No way.

5: Seriously, what do you consider the world's most pressing issue now?
Weight loss. Oh, wait, you didn't want my most pressing issue?

6: How would you rectify the world's most pressing issue?

Weight Watchers . . . oh, there I go again!

7: You are given the chance to go back and change one thing in your life; what would that be?

Law School. I would have done something that allowed me more time with my child.

8: You are given the chance to go back and change one event in world history, what would that be?

The election of Bill Clinton.

9: A night at the opera, or a night at the Grand Ole' Opry --Which do you choose?

The Opry! But only on a Brad Paisley or Dolly Parton or Alisson Krauss night. Otherwise, too crowded for me.

10: What is the one great unsolved crime of all time you'd like to solve?

Who stole my . . . Oh wait, I gave that away . . .

11: One famous author can come to dinner with you. Who would that be, and what would you serve for the meal?

Benjamin Franklin (He wrote his autobiography and the almanac). I'd serve chicken and dumplings, cause I love chicken and dumplings.

12: You discover that John Lennon was right, that there is no hell below us, and above us there is only sky -- what's the first immoral thing you might do to celebrate this fact?

Who said Heaven was "above us" and Hell was "below us" anyway? As for immoral, I'm a good girl. I don't do anything that could be considered immoral. *snicker*

Ok, I'm not passing this one on either, cause everyone I know already did it. So there *sticks tongue out*.

Seven Songs

I've been memed, again, by Richmond.

I am supposed to:

list seven songs I am into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

Ok, that sounds easy enough. I have an ecclectic mix of music I like to listen to so here goes:

A Living Prayer: Alison Krauss and Union Station - something about her voice charms me. I love that you can feel her emotion right through the song.

Good to Go: John Corbett (Ian on My Big Fat Greek Wedding) - surprisingly engaging tune. Plus, he is completely day-pass material even if a little scruffy these days.

If Six Was Nine: Jimi Hendrix - an all-time favorite of mine. I listen to it when I'm really pissed off - like today!

My Humps: The Black Eyed Peas - what can I say? I like to shake my ass.

The Hair soundtrack because I've loved it since I was a wee bebe, and because Treat Williams is also day-pass material.

Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do: Van Zant - cause it's .38 Special meets Lynyrd Skynyrd and because no one tells me what to do.

Folsom Prison Blues as done by the Reverand Horton Heat. Cause it makes me giggle. Also, because I love their stuff, especially "Eat Steak" and "F**ked Up Ford"

Oh, and to add some more, cause I never do anything I'm suppossed to do:

Someone to Watch Over Me: Ella Fitzgerald or I've Been Loving You- Otis Redding. It hits me at my core. I love this song. I started loving it back in 1993 when Susy Amis' character sings it in a southern blues joint in the movie Rich in Love. I love it still.

I'm not tagging anyone, I'm just gonna go listen to some Otis and think about what I might greet my hubby with tonight! *wink, wink*

Meme'd again

I got hit with this Meme by Contagion who didn't appreciate all the fun Meme's I put him through.

This one was created by Lee Ann so that makes it good.

Anyway, rules are to name 5 Christmas movies that move me to the spirit.

1. White Christmas. Something about watching Bing Crosby fall in love with Rosemary Clooney that just keeps me enthralled.

2. Scrooge / A Christmas Carol, any version will do. I especially like the old black and white Alastair Sim version.

3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas- the animated one. I love it. I sing the theme song all season. I have a nickname derived from that movie. What can I say? A classic.

4. A Charlie Brown Christmas-A masterpiece!

5. A Smoky Mountain Christmas. What can I say, I'm a redneck at heart!

So, I am supposed to tag some people, so I tag Richmond, TNT, and Machelle. Have at it girls! And Merry Christmas.

No fair, two within three days? My former blog subject Stevin has gone too far. He has spread a meme virus to me. Blech!

I'm supposed to give a list of my favorite reading material:

As I have a 2 1/2 year old son, my reading has been, how shall I put this? lite!

So right now my favorite reads are:

The Monster at the End of This Book
by Grover Monster. It is a suspense-filled literary masterpiece with an unexpected twist at the end.

Goodnite Moon
Everyone's favorite board book. Who can forget classic lines like ". . . goodnight cow jumping over the moon. . ."

Mickey Finds a Kitty
Simply a fun read. The moral of the story is to not forget your friends . . . or some such thing.

David and Goliath
We enjoy the part where David cuts off Goliath's head.

Eight Silly Monkeys Wholesome family entertainment. This one will have you falling off your bed along with each silly monkey.

Oh and not to be forgotten is Green Eggs and Ham. Quite tasty with brown sugar and black pepper.

That's it! I am officially memed out. I could be really rank and infect Contagion with this one too, but for his sake I won't. I can just see it now, his poor head would go flying off his body. Sick. I won't do it to the lad. Besides, he loves Christmas and all, this would just ruin his month. *wink, wink*.

So, I won't curse anyone today, maybe tomorrow . . .

Weird, Who Me?

My "friend" Richmond has memed me! It is of course retaliation for the dreaded alarmclock meme from some time ago. So here goes:

I am supposed to give you five weird habits that I have - don't laugh, the first is a doozy!

1. When I get a clean glass from the cupboard - for myself - I usually clean the inside lip of the glass by wiping it on my shirt. I do this using my right breast as a buffer, so to speak, because at least part of it is the perfect size to fit within the glass. TMI? This also is my way of ensuring that my breasts haven't shrunk (my glasses are wide mouth glasses).

2. Whenever there is a full moon, I greet the moon and then I do a rather Elaineesque dance beneath it. I am not entirely sure why.

3. I can't sleep with my hair down. It has to be in a bun, and I will wake up 2 or three times in a night to fix it. When it is in a bun during the day, I will redo it four or five times throughout the day. And let me tell you, it isn't easy pulling 27 1/2 inches of hair into a bun!

4. Whenever I drink, I start to recite the alphabet backwards so that if I ever get stopped at a sobriety checkpoint I can say it backwards and chalk my inability to walk a straight line up to general clumsiness.

5. I will chew a piece of gum long after it has lost its flavor and until that gum has gotten too hard to chew comfortably.

I am supposed to tag five people for this meme, but I don't know if five people read this blog so I will tag Dear ole Dad - Harvey, Sarah of That's Not Very Nice, and Contagion cause he loves a good meme *wink, wink*
