My adorable brother-in-law and his very charming friend stopped in on their way to Vermont last night.
They left Florida at 9 p.m. on Sunday and got to my home - North of Pittsburgh, PA at about 11:30 p.m. They leave for Vermont this afternoon.
Now, the Boy knew his uncle was coming for a brief stay, and so he took an early nap so he could be awake. True to form, the Boy played Ham as we all hugged and laughed. He was a Ham until 1:30 a.m. when I made him sleep - and by made, I mean I held him down in bed until he stopped jumping around and crashed.
The Brother-in-law brought gifts from a recent trip to Peru. He brought a handwoven hat for the Boy, a llama bottle opener for the Hubby, a beautiful llama wool scarf for me and assorted fun things. One of the first things he did was beg a bumper sticker from me and he put it directly on his car. So to my Florida friends, if you see my bumper sticker way down there - you will know why . . .
I love my brother-in-law. He is a free spirit, he is intelligent, talented and kind and he is cute too. Really, who drives from Cocoa Beach Florida, to Vermont to snowboard for two days and turn around and drive back? Only him.
I'll have to dig up a good pic of him to show him off. Oh . . . and ladies . . . he is 27, single - an amateur snowboarder and surfer - he films and produces freelance commercials when he can and he is damn cute. I'm just saying . . .

I've not had a meltdown - yet . . .
I've four days left to get signatures. . . I'm close, but not there.
I've been stress eating, so now I have an ulcer or something like it *mental note, see doctor* pickles, soda and candy will do that to you. . .
I've got a mountain of work at work and can't seem to get to it . . .
And - I spoke to peeps from the "other" party who told me that even though I'm running for a non-partisan position on both tickets, they would not support me and oh by the way *we never had this conversation*. . .

Lost 13 pounds! Whoo Hoo! Alas, that is the only plus side.
Signatures . . . not going well;
Weather . . . better but raining;
Psyche . . . slowly deteriorating into a Britney-like meltdown.
Not the pantiless partying Britney but the head shaving, tear stained, incoherent sobbing Britney only with bigger words . . .

So, the day is over. I hope you got something that showed you are loved.
My son said - "Mama, did you get me a card?" I responded that I had. We read it together and he looked at it thoughtfully and said - "That sure is a nice card Mama. You always get me the nice stuff." With that he smiled and hopped away as three-almost-four year olds are want to do.
My secret valentine got nothing from me, because I used up everything I got him. . .*smile*
The Hubby and I had Chinese take out. My reward for getting wind burn on my face and ears from braving the temps, snow and wind to get ballot signatures.
Yesterday was another bust for those. I'm not sure if I'll make the cut at the rate this is going. . . I just don't have the infrastructure that others do.
Ah well. I can only try.
Anyway, I hope you all had a happy you are loved day. Afterall, you are!

My luck isn't the best. . . today was the petition drive kickoff and also the worst snowstorm of our season. It is still going. . .
I got some signatures. Not enough. Some wouldn't sign. Many were not registered, but in all, the people I spoke to were pretty cool.
I had to cut the day short as I could not get to the people. We got almost a foot of snow before 5 p.m. Tomorrow we are expecting about 9 additional inches.
Ack!!!
Keep me in your thoughts folks, I'm going to need all the help I can get!
