SCOTUS Aftermath

Grau's blogging about it and gave me the idea. The town of New London, CT, you remember - the one that won Supreme Court approval to steal land from taxpayers - well, they are finishing off those taxpayers with some dirty tricks.

They are demanding that they be paid back-rent by the residents who will soon lose their homes, because they were "living on City property" while the case was going on. Also they are only willing to pay market rates from 2000 when the case began. So those people will not only lose their homes, but won't be able to replace them with comparable homes.

A little salt in that wound maybe?

So, now the aftermath and message to be taken from SCOTUS' ill-conceived decision is this

We'll take your home and your check thank you.

Grau thinks a boycott of Pfizer is in order, and that may well be appropriate (write Pfizer with your concerns!), but when is that hotel going to be built on Souter's place? And are we testing any new weapons systems? New London sounds ideal.

Freedom? Liberty? Justice? Just obscure "concepts" in 21st century USA. Don't ever give up your guns! Something tells me we're gonna need 'em shortly!
