Today Is Not That Day

Every now and again I pull something intelligent out of my ass very large and oft-used brain *wink, wink*. Today is not that day.

I am sickened by politics of late. I am saddened that we have mothers who kill their children, and fathers who shouldn't have children among us.

I am beyond upset at all the attention that New Orleans and its useless politicos and residents get while 300 residents of towns like Pearlington, Mississippi are still sleeping on the ground in their football stadium! Here is the time when you ask "Where's FEMA?". And the answer? Busy defending their actions after Katrina.

Oh wait! I have more. I am disgusted that we get no stories, no pictures, not even a mention of all the help the U.S. has sent to Pakistan since the earthquake, but the MSM knows no shame!

So, to escape from all this crap floating out there, I am going to take the advice of my beautiful 2 year old who said "mommy smile, if it hurts I can fix it!"
He can. He and I are going to enjoy the weekend despite the garbage that infects my mind during the week. I'm going to let him make me smile (it doesn't take much) and attempt to fix it, although I am quite certain he isn't sure what he is fixing.

Have a good weekend, I will be indulging in these! Jealous? You should be!

Yup, it's hard to keep up in the real world. Information overload is certainly real. That's just one reason why the past two weekends I've spent over 12 hours at the local Renaissance Festival!

Oh, and you need to make me some pumpkin pie or remove that damn graphic from your site. I get hungry every single time I visit and see that thing...

You can sit by me. I am *beyond* sick of the "news" these days. Why I have been writing about yoda heads and stuff, I'm sure....

Oddy,

You ask where I've been -- just where you're at mostly, escaping he politics and lunicy of our world by avoiding the blogisphere and doing some freelance non-fiction writing (articles and abstracts and such).

Enjoy your hiatus and your litle one -- both are valuable commodities.

Regards,

I hope you have lots of good cookies and good smiles. You can always send some here next week. I'm sure I'll need them. GRIN

Hey.
You may not be able to make a difference in the world, but you can make a difference in the life of a child. Even better when the child is your beautiful boy! Baking cookies - together, I hope? =) YOU ROCK! Enjoy and celebrate the treasure you have there in your home.

ps... I'mmma gonna steal that recipe... been wondering what to do with those toffee bits in the pantry...

Things are always better after a little break. I get worked up about stuff and have to stop reading about it too. Have a great weekend!

For some reason, I was expecting that bottom link to go somewhere more like:

Oh, MAN! Those cookies are about the only thing that could tempt me away from my diet. I'm going to ask my daughter to whip us up a batch! Toffee bits!
