'Emerging Exploits'? How odd! Can you talk to the network geek about it?

It's a fancy way of saying that there are blogs on blogspot that have malicious code on them. And that there is currently no way to stop the code from automatically screwing up your system through your browser. So, they block all blogspot blogs. *sigh*

I'm thinking they must have had to fix someone's computer after they went to a "bad blog" - if you have to do it once - the theory is, you will have to do it many more times. Blogspot blogs with malicious code has been around for quite a while now - so it's nothing new at all. (that's why I think it's because they were landed with extra work fixing one or more machines - heh)

Depending on what type of exploit they found and how security conscious they are, it could be that they are either lazy, or the code was pretty scary (like keystroke loggers sending out company data to a Russian server). In any case it's a bummer.

If you have a feed reader that will pick up the entire post - you will at least be able to read your favorite peeps out there. You won't be able to comment, but you should be able to read.

So that's why you don't come around anymore. Wait, I'm not on blogspot! :)

What a mean Halloween trick!

That sucks big time. I like Teresa's idea... even if I'm not a blogspotter anymore. Ehhh that sounds almost like a woman's monthly cycle. Way too tired.

Weird, I'm getting the same thing today at work. Blogs that weren't blocked yesterday, I can't access today because "The Websense category "Emerging Exploits" is filtered". Hmm.

This has been annoying me all day, being shut out of my own blog, especially as I've got no internet at home right now.

(BTW: hello. I found your blog by googling emerging exploits websense blogspot!)

I've worked out a way getting round some of it - so I can at least get to see the content of my own blog. I can go into my dashboard in Blogger, which isn't blocked, and then do things from there. Adding a new post seems to go OK, but I'm not yet sure how to look at new comments.

Happy (day after) Halloween!
